Somer Dental recommends these strong metal-free crowns for all positions in the mouth. These beautiful restorations are opaque enough to cover post-and-cores, but translucent enough to keep its esthetic characteristics. Cut a chamfer preparation and when you receive the finished crown simply cement the Procera® in with your favorite cement..

Procera® Restorations

Somer Dental is one of the few laboratories in the nation that has in-lab scanning capabilities for Procera® restorations.  This allows our laboratory to have full control of the quality of each restoration.

Procera® is a semi-translucent coping made of extremely dense-sintered aluminum oxide.

Because Procera® copings are fabricated through computer aided design, they have consistent precision fit.

AllCeram porcelain is used for Procera® crowns. Our elite team of technicians are highly trained.

The secret behind Procera® AllCeram is its unique combination of strength and beauty.

Over the last few years, new technology has given dental porcelain better properties. Until now however, porcelain coated ceramic copings have been neither strong enough, nor durable enough for widespread use.

Procera® AllCeram is a coping made of extremely dense-sintered aluminum oxide. The coping is produced in an industrial process known as the Procera® technique, which ensures optimal fit, great strength, non-porosity and has the ability to transmit light without being transparent.  Due to the strength in the core material, Procera® AllCeram can be recommended for prosthetic reconstructions anywhere in the mouth. The translucent coping offers remarkable esthetic characteristics. When combined with Procera® AllCeram Porcelain these characteristics become apparent. In order to recreate the beauty of natural teeth, the porcelain has been formulated to make the most of the copings inherent potential.

More and more patients are asking for constructions made of material not containing metal or other alloys. Procera® AllCeram is made of a biocompatible material (comparable to titanium) which minimizes the risk of allergic reactions.

Because the porcelain is specially adapted to the coping’s translucence and fluorescence, Procera® AllCeram Porcelain opens an entirely new era of using porcelain in dentistry.

Procera® Tooth Preparation

For Procera® restorations, a tooth preparation of the chamfer type is the optimum choice.  The preparation design is analogous to the architecture of the natural tooth.  Thinned margins and a cutting with rounded inner angles and edges characterize a chamfer preparation.

To attain optimum adaptation, the occlusal surfaces of posterior teeth should have a relatively flat surface topography.  When it comes to preparation depth, the veneering potential of Procera® AllCeram permits a variation in preparation depth of between 0.1-1.5 mm.  If possible, take 2 mm off the occlusal.
